Use Sloppy Stage 2 Camshaft Kit after diagnosis has isolated persistent valvetrain ticking, misfire, rough running, or wear found on matched camshaft and valve-motion components. The replacement replaces the matched valve-motion components so camshaft rotation can be transferred through the specified valvetrain configuration. Inspect oil supply, cam lobes, lifter bores, rocker contact points, timing components, and sealing surfaces during disassembly. Verify lubrication and valve-motion geometry before the engine is returned to service. This application uses the 5.3L and 5.7L engines, so the engine code and factory configuration must agree with the vehicle being repaired. Follow the required timing, lubrication, preload, and torque procedures, then verify valve motion before startup. After assembly, verify normal system operation and correct any separate fault source found during diagnosis.
