It replaces the camshaft and 16 hydraulic roller lifters: eight MDS (cylinder-deactivation) lifters and eight standard (non-deactivation) lifters, with four lifter trays and the top-end sealing components needed for the package's defined repair scope. This is a factory-MDS configuration, not a Non-MDS lifter set or an MDS-delete conversion package.
The 5.7L HEMI MDS Camshaft & Lifter Kit is appropriate when inspection confirms wear or damage involving the matched camshaft, MDS lifters, or related sealing surfaces. The MDS-compatible camshaft and lifters keep the mechanical valvetrain configuration aligned with the original cylinder-deactivation system. The included head gaskets, cylinder-head bolts, valve-cover gaskets, manifold gaskets, valve-stem seals, and small seals support the same top-end service without changing the engine's system type. This kit is limited to the listed 5.7L HEMI engines that retain factory MDS. Electronic controls, calibration work, timing components, oiling repairs, and parts outside the stated package remain separate from this kit.
