Ecotec Timing Chain Kit with VVT Gears, Water Pump, Head Gaskets & Head Bolts

This VVT Timing Chain Kit is intended for owners and engine technicians repairing the listed engine timing system on 2009-2010 Chevrolet Cobalt. The vehicle must also use 2.2L / 2.4L GM Ecotec DOHC engine, front engine, internal engine position, and Engine Timing, Balance Shaft, VVT, Engine Cooling, and Cylinder Head Sealing configuration.

Use this VVT Timing Chain Kit when chain, guide, tensioner, sprocket, phaser, or timing-cover wear has been identified during diagnosis. Diagnosis should identify the affected component, and the repair must match 2.2L / 2.4L GM Ecotec DOHC engine, front engine, internal engine position, and Engine Timing, Balance Shaft, VVT, Engine Cooling, and Cylinder Head Sealing configuration. Also verify Engine code/VIN: LEA-K / LUK-R / LAF-C / LE8-W or B / LAP-5 or H and 16-valve Ecotec.

Relevant signs include startup rattle, timing noise, cam-to-crank correlation faults, or excessive timing-component wear. These symptoms can have more than one cause, so the vehicle should be inspected before treating the component as the source of the problem.

This VVT Timing Chain Kit renews the matched timing-drive components that keep crankshaft and camshaft operation synchronized. Its configuration is specific to front engine, internal engine position and Engine Timing, Balance Shaft, VVT, Engine Cooling, and Cylinder Head Sealing requirements.

The package includes 1 x 148-Link Timing Chain, 1 x 134-Link Balance Shaft Chain, 1 x Timing Chain Tensioner, 1 x Balance Shaft Tensioner, 2 x VVT Camshaft Gears, 2 x Camshaft Position Actuators (Intake and Exhaust), 2 x VVT Solenoids (Intake and Exhaust), 2 x Crankshaft Sprockets, 2 x Balance Shaft Sprockets, 6 x Guide Rails (3 Timing and 3 Balance Shaft), 1 x Water Pump with Gasket, 1 x Timing Cover Gasket Set, 2 x MLS Head Gaskets, 1 x Valve Cover Gasket Set, 16 x Valve Stem Seals, 1 x Intake Manifold Gasket Set, 1 x Exhaust Manifold Gasket Set, 1 x Front Camshaft Seal, 1 x O-Ring and Small Gasket Set, and 14 x Cylinder Head Bolts (10 Long and 4 Short). Keeping the confirmed components together supports the repair sequence described for 2009-2010 Chevrolet Cobalt.
