This 5.7L HEMI MDS Camshaft Lifters Lower Gaskets Kit is designed for 2009–2010 Dodge Ram 1500 and 2011–2019 Ram 1500 trucks equipped with the 5.7L V8 HEMI engine and the MDS cylinder-deactivation valvetrain system. It combines the camshaft, MDS lifter components, and lower-engine gasket components for repairs that involve both valvetrain service and lower-engine sealing work.
The camshaft controls valve timing, while the MDS lifters operate as part of the engine’s cylinder-deactivation system. When camshaft lobes or MDS lifters show confirmed wear, servicing the related lower-engine sealing components during the same teardown can help support a more complete repair. This kit is intended for MDS-equipped 5.7L HEMI applications and should not be used for a Non-MDS valvetrain configuration.
