Use LS Gen 4 AFM/DOD Delete Valley Cover Kit after diagnosis has isolated fluid leakage, vacuum leakage, combustion sealing loss, or damaged sealing surfaces in the listed engine area. The replacement replaces the matched cover, gasket, seal, or cylinder-head component for the specified engine interface. Clean and inspect the mating surfaces, fastener threads, fluid passages, and adjacent covers before assembly. Follow the specified tightening sequence so the new sealing components are not distorted during installation. This application uses the 4.8L and 5.3L engines, so the engine code and factory configuration must agree with the vehicle being repaired. Use the specified tightening sequence and sealant locations, then check the repaired interface for leaks after startup. After assembly, verify normal system operation and correct any separate fault source found during diagnosis.
