INFORMACIÓN
Overview
Is your 5.7L HEMI experiencing valvetrain ticking, recurring misfires, low compression, excessive oil consumption, blue exhaust smoke, blow-by, or confirmed internal engine damage? These symptoms can have several possible causes, so oil-pressure testing, compression or leak-down testing, trouble-code diagnosis, and internal inspection should be completed before ordering parts.
This aftermarket engine rebuild kit is designed for select 2009–2018 Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep vehicles equipped with a 5.7L V8 HEMI engine, MDS cylinder deactivation, and VVT. It combines camshaft and lifter service components with head-gasket parts, pistons and rings, intake and exhaust valves, and connecting rods for repairs involving both the valvetrain and the rotating assembly.
The camshaft and hydraulic roller lifters control valve movement and support MDS operation. The intake and exhaust valves regulate airflow and seal the combustion chambers, while the pistons and rings maintain compression and control oil. The connecting rods transfer combustion force from the pistons to the crankshaft. Because these components require extensive engine disassembly, this kit is intended for a professionally inspected engine rebuild rather than routine maintenance.
Key Features
- Designed for select 2009–2018 5.7L V8 HEMI applications equipped with both MDS and VVT.
- Retains the existing MDS cylinder-deactivation configuration; this is not an MDS-delete conversion kit.
- Includes one camshaft, 16 hydraulic roller lifters, and four MDS-compatible lifter guide assemblies for coordinated valvetrain service.
- Includes eight replacement pistons with a complete piston-ring set for compression and oil-control repairs; the selected piston size must match the measured cylinder bores.
- Includes eight intake valves and eight exhaust valves for cylinder-head repairs involving confirmed valve or sealing damage.
- Includes eight connecting rods for rotating-assembly service; crankshaft and bearing clearances must be measured during installation.
- Includes cylinder-head gaskets, upper-engine gaskets, seals, and head bolts for disassembly and reassembly during the same repair.
Installation Notice
This is a major internal-engine repair kit. Professional installation by an experienced engine builder or machine shop is strongly recommended.
Before assembly, measure cylinder bore diameter, taper and out-of-round, piston-to-wall clearance, piston-ring end gap, crankshaft journals, connecting-rod bearing clearance, valve guides, valve seats, and cylinder-head and block-deck flatness. Confirm piston bank and directional placement, connecting-rod orientation, MDS lifter position, valve-to-piston clearance, and camshaft timing.
If camshaft or lifter damage produced metal debris, thoroughly clean the crankcase, oil passages, oil pickup, and related lubrication components before reassembly. Follow the applicable torque-angle, timing, lubrication, and oil-system priming procedures before startup.
